As a proud military veteran who served during Desert Storm in United State Army Veterans Day is especially meaningful to me. I understand firsthand the dedication, sacrifice, and pride that come with serving our great nation.

Hello, I’m Sylvia Benjamin, your local State Farm agent here in Nappanee! I’m a wife, a proud mom of two amazing adult kids, a Veteran of the United States Army, and a long-time small business owner who loves serving our communities across Elkhart County, St. Joseph County, Kosciusko County, Lagrange County, and throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

To me, being a Good Neighbor is more than just a saying. It represents genuine compassion, local involvement, and meaningful service. I care deeply about uplifting our communities, supporting our customers, and encouraging the growth of each team member who joins Team Benjamin. Our history of giving back is part of who we are, and our foundation is built on shared values, integrity, and a true commitment to great service. Team Benjamin strives to uplift others, encourage professional and personal growth, and stay engaged in community outreach all year long—especially during the winter months, when neighbors often appreciate a little extra support.

I am a Desert Storm Veteran and a graduate of the University of Maryland. I proudly serve on the Board for the Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee and have previously served on the Board for the Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County and currently serving on the Nappanee Board for the Boys & Girls Club. Our team remains active with youth programs across the region and continues to support local students through internships and enrichment opportunities.

I’m also a member of the American Legion of Nappanee and serve on the Honor Guard. Our team actively participates Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart County and especially our local Boys & Girls Club in Nappanee. We love programs that empower young people, families, and local organizations. I am the Co-Founder of LeadHERship Circle, a community group supporting women leaders and business owners, and I proudly serve in Personal Relations with The Rose Garden Recovery in Syracuse. I am also chair for Wings and Wheels for the Nappanee Apple Festival . I serve on the Proverbs 31 Women of Strength board we serve over 400 State Farm Agents across the country to empower strong women in their personal lives and the life of being a State Farm Agent and business owner. I love bringing neighbors together during community events. We also are a sponsor the 4H Elkhart County Fair, one of the largest County fairs in the nation!
